Stories and Recipes

Fellow Bloggers and Friends, I am writing a nonfiction book about grandmothers called The Mamaw Chronicles. In it I share stories about my grandmothers and some of their recipes. It will be sort of along the lines of one of the "Chicken Soup For The..." books, and I would love contributions from any and all friends to add to the spice of the book. If you would like to offer a story: funny, sweet, dark, sad, philosophical, or wise about your grandmother and one of her recipes, please send them to me at readerviv@gmail.com. Your story and/or recipe will be included and I will recognize your contribution by using either your first initial and last name or your first name and last initial, whichever you prefer. So bring it on, grandchildren! Here's a story from my own life about my maternal grandmother:

My grandmother was wise in many ways, but she had some strange ideas about how to "doctor" health problems. One of these ways was to bathe her arthritic knee in kerosene. Yes, you read that right - kerosene. Needless to say, it was a good thing that none of us smoked.

Okay, readers, now it's your turn. Send 'em in. I look forward to reading your tales.
